Communion

What you will need:

  • Pieces of bread (enough for each confessing Christian in your family)

  • Small cups of grape juice  (enough for each confessing Christian in your family)

Read this Scripture with your family before partaking:

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

  • 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Script for Leading Families in Communion

  • At the Last Supper, Jesus took the bread and broke it and said, “Take, eat. This is my body broken for you.  As often as you take it, remember Me.”

    • Please eat the bread at this time.

  • Then again on that same night, Jesus took the wine and blessed it, then said, “Take, drink. This is the cup of the New Covenant in my blood.  As often as you drink it, remember Me.”

    • Please drink the juice at this time.

Pray

  • Thank God for sending His Son to save us from sin and rejoice that, though we deserved death because of our sin, we now have eternal life with God because of what Jesus did on the Cross.

  • Look forward to Jesus' return!
