You've probably heard about the problems this Coronavirus pandemics is causing for food banks and pantries. According to the Feeding America Network, 98% of food banks across America reported an increase in demand for food assistance. And that is true right here in Union County. In 2019, Common Heart served 35% of the 22,000 food insecure individuals in Union County. That was an average of 750 families per month and many families are served multiple times in a year. But since the Covid pandemic, they have more than doubled the number of families they are helping with mobile pantries and have recently opened an additional evening pantry.
We are asking our faith family at PCC to show the bold love of Jesus in a very practical way by helping to put food in the hands of our neighbors in Union County. To do this, we will be hosting a Food Drive for Common Heart. You can participate in couple of ways:
1: Donate food:
There is a list of 'items needed' below, simply click the button at the bottom of the page. All items are appreciated.
We will be having a Food Drop off at the Church this Saturday, May 30th 10-11am and Saturday, June 6th, 10-11am. Simply drive up to the curb, and drop off your donation. We will deliver the food to Common Heart for you.
Or you can drop food off directly at Common Heart, Wednesday-Friday 10-2 and Saturdays 8-12. (Closed 5th Saturday of Month). The address is 116 Business Park Drive, Indian Trail. 28079.
2: Donate money:
If you would rather financially contribute to Common Heart, click the link below and they will use the money in the way they need it most.

We ask that you give as you are able, and pray for God's blessings to multiply as He so beautifully can!
The times we are living in are strange. But in this one simple way, we can be the light in the world to those in need and give glory to our Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)
